Nor the deepest...

I have always believed that one of the most spectacular attractions to see and know is the world under the sea. I had this opportunity a few years ago with my family, on a glass bottom boat, we explored the largest reef in America, on the island of Rotan. It is incredible everything you can find in such depth.
There were areas so deep that not even sunlight could light them. The saying ’finding a needle in a haystack’ would stay as long as possible, compared to this needle sinking into the sea. It turns out that it is a fantastic experience, while you are inside a boat like this, or perhaps if you dared to dive with all the necessary equipment. Somehow you feel safe and all you can do is enjoy the view.
The experience would not be the same if you were under a storm, with huge waves and a lot of rain; even worse, if you weren't on the ship. The sensation of sinking, in a dark night, in the middle of nowhere and with strong winds —it is definitely not the best invitation to discover the world under the sea.
The bible tells a story that occurs in the Sea of Galilee, in Matthew 14. The deepest area of this sea is approximately 40-46m and on average 25.6m. In either area, sinking would not be a good option.
In this story, we see one of the many moments of Jesus with his disciples. One in particular: Peter. I think it can represent us in many ways; he was bold, reckless, impulsive, he was not a very easy person to love. The good news is that, for Jesus, there is no difficult person and much less there is someone who cannot be enveloped by his love.
Peter, our brave and daring Peter, tells Jesus —amidst those angry winds and waves— to invite him to get to where he was (nothing more and nothing less was walking on the water Ha! piece of cake!). To which Jesus said, "Come". I want to make this clear: At this point, Peter was loved by Jesus.

Peter, got out of the boat and walked on the water... What do you think? Jesus continued to love him.
And we know the story, Matthew 14:30 says, But seeing the strong wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying,
Lord, save me!
I too would have screamed for help, knowing that below me was a sea many meters deep. And in life, who is not asking or who has not cried out for help because we have found ourselves in a situation like this —sinking?
One day we see ourselves with all the boldness, courage and steps of faith that we have taken, and suddenly something happens and we see ourselves sinking into our fears. The worst thing is that we question whether God continues to see us through his loving eyes because of having the waters covering us —when we should be walking on them. We are hard on ourselves.
But I want to leave you this: Jesus also loved Peter, as he sank in the waters. Jesus also loves you as you sink. Jesus loves you as you walk through the waters as much as when they are sinking you. His love is endless and inseparable.
Romans 8:39, neither the highest, "nor the deepest", nor any of the other things created by God.
Nothing can separate us from the love that God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord!
I hug you.
