Under the same roof.

This post is not a sequel to a romantic movie. It is an open letter about what I have meditated and prayed a lot in this house time.
I think that each roof is different, who is under it and what is lived, also:
Under the same roof, there are families that are united, being an altar of worship, being houses of bread and light for them –and others.
Under the same roof, there are dysfunctional families; lawsuits, strife and domestic violence –physically, emotionally and psychologically– have increased (if this is your case, please seek help), divorce and separation is knocking on the heart's door.
Under the same roof, there are families in mourning, loved ones who never believed that they had given them the last hug and much less thought that saying goodbye would be in such a cold way –without company.
Under the same roof, there are families who are blessed to have food at home, in such a difficult time.
Under the same roof, there are families who are concerned that they will have food at home in such a difficult time.
Under the same roof, there are families in distance to protect their own from not infecting them.
Under the same roof, there are families doing everything possible to learn to live together –something that they didn't think was important before, due to the short periods of time when they «lived together». Deciphering relationships and roles between parents and children, and between partners.
Under the same roof, there are those who are alone. Missing those they love, living with themselves –or at least trying; seeing themselves –some loving what they see, others not so much; and perhaps developing new skills and projects, or, just counting the days to return to their daily life…
The curious thing is that, perhaps, these situations were always present, but the fact that we have to face it –with nowhere else to flee– is what makes it more real and experiential. We are all in one of these roofs. Have you thought about it?

Even in this, God reminds me that He likes houses.
There is a lot about this in the bible, but I will focus on the next point. Jesus once said:
John14: 1-3, »Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
Houses are an idea of God, that's why in heaven there is a house: one where we will have a room to always live with Him. Therefore, his idea is also to have a great family: one that lives under the same roof of His love, where His presence will illuminate everything and nothing more will be needed –completely full: because we will be with Him. Together. For eternity.
I like to treasure this truth and promise in my heart, because in a time like this, it takes away the anguish. It redirects me and invites me to discover how to live heaven on earth –while I get to the place that he has prepared for me; of how to be and have a house from heaven on earth: one that Jesus is always in, regardless of the circumstances that are outside or below the roof.
These are uncertain moments. But let's continue trusting Him.
There is no one who can take better care of His house and His family than our Father God.
I hug you and pray for you.
