Tears on the shoulder...

It is curious that, whether we feel deep pain or deep joy, it is evidenced in a very similar way: tears. For both cases, having someone's company also generates a very special experience.

These days I have thought a lot, about the times I left a tear on someone's shoulder –and not only physically, there are those who are a shoulder being miles away. They are moments of time that you don't forget. We don't forget the hug that smiled with us while we celebrated life, much less, we don't forget the hug that unraveled us lumps in the throat. As I thought about this, God made me see the many different times that He makes us notice his «I am here, I am with you» through others. The good news is that everyone, at some point in our lives, has been used by God to be the shoulder where a tear is sown. Isn't that a beautiful feeling –knowing that for someone, you were a «God is here»?

Hopefully we understood that it was always about «giving». (Acts 20:35) God did it from the beginning. He created us in His image and likeness –giving us all of Him. He gave us everything, in fact he entrusted us in its entirety. And even when we gave Him reasons to stop being generous to us, He spared us nothing. He kept giving himself up. He kept giving himself to humanity. Keep doing it.

This explains why we are here, in the lives of others. Why are they here, for our life. It is a constant «giving». Every time we are someone's shoulder, we are being the means, by which God gives himself. We are more like him –our original design.

''What can I give to others?'' –you may question yourself. It is the interesting thing, you should not give yourself, we give God; We show them the way to God. Wasn't that what Jesus did? He came to show us the way to the Father, it was never about him as a person, it was always about his Father.

Maybe you visited this blog, and thought, that right now what you needed is a shoulder. I don't know what the reason for your tears is –pain or joy–, Today I want to be that shoulder for you:

Those who plant with tears will gather fruit with songs of joy. (Psalm 126:5, NLV)

There are several interesting things here: everything you sow with tears produces seeds: some seeds produce flowers, others produce trees, and others produce plants that bear fruit. The seeds produce gardens, orchards, forests... life. Just think of all the seeds you are sowing! And this gets better!... it doesn't specify if the tears should be of pain or happiness, but it does assure that only the fact that they are tears are valuable! for a harvest that in the end will bring you joy.

Revelation 21:4, NLV, God will take away all their tears. There will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All the old things have passed away.

A day when there will be no more tears? Can you believe that? and it is that by then, all the flowers that should come from you will be complete. A totally ready garden: growth, maturity, fullness and life will have been the harvest of joy finally accomplished.

This is not to minimize your pain –in case this is the reason for your tears; it's to give you hope.

For now, I want to remind you that: God is here, He wants to hear you: sow your tears in Him.

We are here for you, sow your tears on our shoulders. You are so loved by Him!

Pd: Agradezcamos los hombros que han estado con nosotros. Seamos el hombro de otros: es tiempo de dar.

¡Te abrazo!
